Here is an assessment (provided by Psychology Today) which might be insightful for you to find out if therapy is needed. According to the research of Dr. John Gottman, it takes couples on average six years from the first signs of problems to get relationship help. Getting help sooner might be better for your marriage than later. Meanwhile, since your well-being (biologically, psychologically, socially, and spiritually) is very important, I would like to help you assess your situation whether therapy is helpful for you. How Do I know if You Are the Right Fit For Me?
It can be challenging to share your secrets with someone you never met before, but it is at times even harder to share something with people in your circle with no guarantee of confidentiality. A great way to find out whether we are a good fit is to schedule a 15-minute phone consultation for FREE.
What If My Spouse Is Not Ready For Counseling Yet?
My goal is to walk alongside this journey with you to cultivate love through restoration, confirmation, strengthening and establishing your marriage and family. Sometimes clients found it tremendously helpful to start counseling with one partner first. Often, individual counseling helps gain insights about self or your spouse, learned communication techniques, and be encouraged or motivated again to fight for the marriage. The Bible even says that sometimes the unbelieving husbands may be won over without a word, but by observing the conduct of their wives (1 Peter 3:1-6). While your spouse might be taking a bit longer to warm up with the idea of counseling, why not trying to start it by yourself?
What Can I Expect From Marriage Counseling?
Counseling is not a quick-fix to your solution. However, like I said, it is a journey that I get to walk alongside you by first providing a thorough assessment of your marriage and then providing a safe and confidential environment for you and your spouse to work on your marriage.
Although the PREPARE-ENRICH assessment is not diagnostic, a lot of couples reported gaining understanding about themselves and their marriage. Sometimes, it can be very helpful to have an unbiased third party to be there as you two sort through the complicated life situations. Perhaps, your marriage might just need a renewed passion or a refreshed vision. For some of you, you need someone to help you rebuild trust. Sometimes, I am like “that coach” who asks you to do things that you may not really enjoy, in order to achieve the goals that you deeply and truly treasure.
How Much Do You Charge For A Counseling Session?
